Witness the Aurora Borealis in person, kayak in bioluminescent filled water, and visit Iceland.
(If you are getting married in any places like this, ya girl travels at a discount ;) )
I'm Josie, an all-inclusive DFW-based wedding and portrait photographer and the artist behind Moxie Artistry.
Moxie: it's not just a name, but a vibe. It sums up who I am and who I'm aiming to be as an artist: bold, genuine, and ✨creative✨. I picked this moniker to represent the courage to express, celebrate life's awesomeness, and create lasting, intentional art.
My photography style is a blend of warm, vibrant, moody, and classic elements, with a dash of editorial flair. I thrive on capturing those candid, in-the-moment shots that tell your unique story, while also crafting beautiful posed portraits.
When I'm not photographing pretty things, you can probably find me either tending to my many houseplants, playing Minecraft, or traversing the aisles of a Trader Joe's.
I'm a lover of comedy and good wine, with 3 adorable fur-babies: Jasper, Rosie, and Alice. (definitely not Twilight related! ...or is it?)
If you ever feel like you need to ask if you can include your pet(s) in our session, please assume the answer will unequivocally be "YES!". I love animals, and I absolutely adore when clients include them in their portraits - they're a part of the family too. ♡

Absolutely "Community".
I love their paintball episodes - I feel like I would thrive at Greendale with these competitions.
movies i could watch over and over again:
if you could be a background character in any show, which show would you pick?
Marth. Always has been, always will be.
Second to that choice would be Sheik.
somewhat niche: choose your super smash bros. character
What should I wear?
How many photos will I recieve?
Do you travel for photography?
How long have you been doing this?
Depending on the session type, more neutral, solid-colored clothing is typically best. We don't want logos or bright colored garments to distract from the beauty we're trying to create.
Pro-tip: Pinterest is a great tool to use in searching for photo session outfits!
The amount depends on the contracted session; I always give a guaranteed baseline expectation when communicating with my clients. I also outline this on my "Investment" page!
Absolutely! I love travelling for sessions and weddings. Some of my most favorite photos were taken on destination weddings. When we chat, I'll give an estimated cost of travel alongside the session fee. ($0.50/mile for mileage, not including accommodations if necessary)
16 years :)
Do you give out RAW photos?
I do not.
Look at it this way: When you go to a restaurant and order your dish, do you want them to serve it to you uncooked, with the raw ingredients? Or would you like them to serve it to you fully-cooked and finished to perfection?
I take your photos (the RAWs), cull + edit them (prep + cook) and then deliver the final product (bon appétit!)
Do you require a deposit?
Short answer: Yes, however it's called a retainer.
Long answer: I do require a non-refundable retainer. This fee secures your session or event date and time, guaranteeing it’s reserved exclusively for you. Once booked, I block that time on my schedule and turn away other potential paying clients.
The reason the retainer is non-refundable is that it covers the time I’ve set aside for you, which could have been filled by someone else if you cancel or reschedule. It’s my way of ensuring not only is your spot safe, but my time is also valued and paid for.
Do you include a second photographer with your wedding packages?
I don’t include a second shooter in my base pricing, but it’s available as an optional add-on! 🙂
My second shooters are compensated at $100 per hour, with a minimum of 4 hours. If you’d like additional coverage, we can easily extend their time as needed!
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds for weddings are only offered under very special circumstances.
If any sessions included in your package (such as engagement or bridal sessions) have already been completed, I will retain the value of those sessions. The remaining balance will be refunded. This ensures that any work already done is fairly compensated.
What is included in your contract?
Many things that protect not only me, but also you!
It’s very important to read through the contract carefully to ensure we’re on the same page and share a clear understanding of the terms. If you have any questions or concerns, I’m always happy to discuss them with you!
