I’m Josie, a Dallas-Fort Worth-based wedding and portrait photographer. I believe everyone deserves to feel comfortable, respected, and celebrated - no matter who you love, how you identify,or what your story is.
My goal is to create a space where you can be yourself, feel safe, and have photos that truly reflect you.

Hi, Friend!

If you have Spotify, click below to open your app and listen to a small collection of tunes that I've had on repeat lately (plus a great podcast episode that everyone planning a wedding should listen to!)
that make up me, Moxie Artistry.

Be prepared: this is the playlist of an ADHD artist, so there's no cohesion here.

If you’re on Spotify, click below to open the app and check out a collection of songs I’ve been loving lately, along with a fantastic podcast episode that anyone planning a wedding should tune in to.

Fair warning: this playlist reflects my ADHD artist vibe, so expect a bit of everything!

Witness the Aurora Borealis in person, kayak in bioluminescent filled water, and visit Iceland.
(If you are getting married in any places like this, ya girl travels at a discount ;) )

Moxie - it's not just a name, it’s a vibe: bold, genuine, creative. It’s the courage to celebrate life’s awesomeness, express joy, and craft art that outlasts the test of time. That’s what I aim to do, both as a person and as a photographer, with a dash of whimsy.

When I’m not behind the camera, I’m tending my houseplants, playing Minecraft, flying to Alaska to watch the Aurora Borealis, or traversing the aisles of Trader Joe’s. I’m a lover of comedy, good wine, and my three fur-babies - Jasper, Rosie, and Alice (definitely not Twilight-related… or is it?).

Amidst these everyday rhythms, I find inspiration - little sparks that shape the way I see the world and guide how I photograph yours.

Every session and wedding is an opportunity to create images that feel vibrant, authentic, sometimes goofy, sometimes tender, and always true to you.

My photography blends warm, vibrant, moody, and classic tones with a hint of editorial setup. I live for candid, in-the-moment moments that tell your story while also creating portraits that feel effortlessly beautiful. Every wedding and photo session is an opportunity to capture the small details, the big laughs, and the authentic energy that makes your story uniquely yours.
Trust me with your day and together we’ll capture a story that’s unforgettable in all the ways that matter: joyful, wild, a little weird, and completely yours.

Depending on the session type*, more neutral, solid-colored clothing is typically best. We don't want logos or bright colored garments to distract from the beauty we're trying to create.
Pro-tip: Pinterest is a great tool to use in searching for photosession outfits!

The amount depends on the contracted session; I always give a guaranteed baseline expectation when communicating with my clients. I also outline this on my "Pricing" page!

Absolutely! I love travelling for sessions and weddings. Some of my most favorite photos were taken on destination weddings. When we chat, I'll give an estimated cost of travel alongside the session fee. ($0.50/mile for mileage, not including accommodations if necessary)

Do you give out RAW photos?

I do not.
Look at it this way: When you go to a restaurant and order your dish, do you want them to serve it to you uncooked, with the raw ingredients? Or would you like them to serve it to you fully-cooked and finished to perfection?

I take your photos (the RAWs), cull + edit them (prep + cook) and then deliver the final product (bon appétit!)

Do you require a deposit?

Short answer: Yes, however it's called a retainer.

Long answer: I do require a non-refundable retainer. This fee secures your session or event date and time, guaranteeing it’s reserved exclusively for you. Once booked, I block that time on my schedule and turn away other potential paying clients.

The reason the retainer is non-refundable is that it covers the time I’ve set aside for you, which could have been filled by someone else if you cancel or reschedule. It’s my way of ensuring not only is your spot safe, but my time is also valued and paid for.

Do you include a second photographer with your wedding packages?

Do you include a second photographer with your wedding packages?

I don’t include a second shooter in my base pricing, but it’s available as an optional add-on! 🙂
My second shooters are compensated at $100 per hour, with a minimum of 4 hours. If you’d like additional coverage, we can easily extend their time as needed!

Do you offer refunds?

Refunds for weddings are only offered under very special circumstances.

If any sessions included in your package (such as engagement or bridal sessions) have already been completed, I will retain the value of those sessions. The remaining balance will be refunded. This ensures that any work already done is fairly compensated.
