Moxie: it’s not just a name, it’s a vibe. And it’s pretty much how I want to move through life - a little bold, a little weird, creative as hell, and not particularly interested in doing things just because that’s how everyone else does them.
That carries over into my photography, too. I want the real stuff - the big (sometimes ugly) laughs, the tiny looks between people, the chaotic moments, the happy tears, and all the little things you probably didn’t even realize were happening. But I’m also an artist, and sometimes I want to step in, find the good light, and create something a little more dramatic, romantic, or editorial.
When I’m not behind the camera, I’m probably messing with my houseplants, playing Minecraft, planning my next trip to the PNW, or traversing the aisles of my local Trader Joe’s. I’m mildly (okay, completely) obsessed with the Aurora Borealis, love comedy, good wine, art, color, and my three fur-babies: Jasper, Rosie, and Alice. (Definitely not Twilight-related... probably.)
All of that finds its way into how I see things. I notice color, light, all the weird little details, the moments happening off to the side, and the stuff that makes people them.
My photography is warm, colorful, a little moody, and somewhere between candid and editorial. I’ll let the real moments unfold when they need to - the laughing-until-you-can’t-breathe moments, the tears, the weird inside jokes, the people losing their minds on the dance floor - but when you need direction, I’m there.
I’ll tell you where to stand, what to do with your hands, fix the thing that’s laying weird, and help create the kind of photos that feel effortless even when there was actually a little work happening behind the scenes.
Whether I’m photographing your wedding, your family, a graduation, the person you love, or just you being you, I want the finished photos to feel like more than proof that it happened. I want them to feel like you were there.

Depending on the session type*, more neutral, solid-colored clothing is typically best. We don't want logos or bright colored garments to distract from the beauty we're trying to create.
Pro-tip: Pinterest is a great tool to use in searching for photosession outfits!

The amount depends on the contracted session; I always give a guaranteed baseline expectation when communicating with my clients. I also outline this on my "Pricing" page!

Absolutely! I love travelling for sessions and weddings. Some of my most favorite photos were taken on destination weddings. When we chat, I'll give an estimated cost of travel alongside the session fee. ($0.50/mile for mileage, not including accommodations if necessary)

Do you give out RAW photos?
I do not.
Look at it this way: When you go to a restaurant and order your dish, do you want them to serve it to you uncooked, with the raw ingredients? Or would you like them to serve it to you fully-cooked and finished to perfection?
I take your photos (the RAWs), cull + edit them (prep + cook) and then deliver the final product (bon appétit!)

Do you require a deposit?
Short answer: Yes, however it's called a retainer.
Long answer: I do require a non-refundable retainer. This fee secures your session or event date and time, guaranteeing it’s reserved exclusively for you. Once booked, I block that time on my schedule and turn away other potential paying clients.
The reason the retainer is non-refundable is that it covers the time I’ve set aside for you, which could have been filled by someone else if you cancel or reschedule. It’s my way of ensuring not only is your spot safe, but my time is also valued and paid for.

I don’t include a second shooter in my base pricing, but it’s available as an optional add-on! 🙂
My second shooters are compensated at $100 per hour, with a minimum of 4 hours. If you’d like additional coverage, we can easily extend their time as needed!

Refunds for weddings are only offered under very special circumstances.
If any sessions included in your package (such as engagement or bridal sessions) have already been completed, I will retain the value of those sessions. The remaining balance will be refunded. This ensures that any work already done is fairly compensated.

It’s very important to read through the contract carefully to ensure we’re on the same page and share a clear understanding of the terms. If you have any questions or concerns, I’m always happy to discuss them with you!

Long answer: I use the AI tools built into Lightroom (which runs locally on my computer! No data center needed :) ) for small, practical edits -things like reducing noise, removing distracting background elements (exit signs, trash cans, cars, random people that walk in the background, etc.), taking phones out of pockets, or cleaning up stray flyaway hairs.
What I don’t use AI for is altering faces or bodies. My goal is always to keep your photos looking natural and true to the moment. Occasionally there are little distractions that pull attention away from the image, and that’s where AI can be helpful - it allows me to remove those small elements while preserving the authenticity of the photo.
