On a hot, humid June morning, I pulled up to the charming and oh-so-gorgeous A&M Gardens. Tucked away in the rural countryside near Azle, TX, this venue felt like a hidden botanical oasis. Lush greenery stretched in every direction, a peaceful fountain invited quiet reflection, and a meandering stream added to the dreamy atmosphere. The dappled shade was just enough to keep us cool—much appreciated in the thick of a Texas spring.
I met up with Alex and Nic, a couple I’d had the pleasure of photographing for their engagement session just a few months prior. Their wedding was an intimate, private ceremony—just the two of them. As Alex slipped into her stunning, sleek gown—almost old Hollywood in style—she took a quiet moment to FaceTime her mother while Nic finished getting ready.
When they met at the altar, Nic couldn’t hold back a small tear as he watched Alex walk toward him, her beautiful, luxurious veil trailing behind her. It was one of those moments that felt like time slowed down, filled with nothing but love and anticipation.
For two blissful hours, we had the entire venue to ourselves, wandering through the foliage and capturing moments in every stunning little nook. We wrapped up the morning with a cake cutting and, of course, a celebratory champagne pop—one of my favorite shots to capture! There’s just something about the energy and joy in that moment that always makes for a perfect photo.
