A Warm June Elopement in Downtown Fort Worth

Moody black and white Fort Worth courthouse elopement photo of the couple kissing under the skylight.

It was a hot June afternoon in Fort Worth, Texas, and I walked through Sundance Square on my way to the Tarrant County Courthouse for an intimate elopement. Another photographer they’d worked with before shared my info with them, and from the moment we met, it felt like love at first sight.

They were relaxed, easygoing, and completely in sync. Photographing their Fort Worth elopement felt effortless and fun. (Okay—maybe not entirely effortless. It was a Texas summer afternoon, after all, and there were definitely no breezes!) Still, their laughter and connection made every moment a joy to capture.

An Intimate Courthouse Ceremony with Heartfelt Vows

After waiting about thirty minutes to be called into the courtroom, we finally met with the judge and jumped right into the ceremony. It was quick, intimate, and full of emotion as Amanda and Churon read their vows to each other. Their happiness filled the room, and before long, they were officially married!

After the ceremony, we gathered with their friends and family to take group portraits, and then move on the fun stuff: formal portraits of the newlyweds!

Why I Love Photographing at the Tarrant County Courthouse

Now, here’s where I have to gush for a second—I love shooting at the Tarrant County Courthouse. It’s such a beautiful, moody building filled with intricate details, hidden nooks, and creative photo opportunities. The elevator has gold mirrored doors that give off the coolest vintage vibe, and those grand stone steps? They’re perfect for portraits.

Once you step outside, it’s just as stunning. The courthouse sits right in the heart of downtown Fort Worth, surrounded by charming streets and architecture that make every angle worth exploring. Because it’s so centrally located, it’s easy to walk to nearby blocks of Sundance Square, giving us endless backdrops for Fort Worth elopement photos.

A Joyful Celebration on the Courthouse Steps

After finishing the creative portraits indoors, we headed outside to take advantage of the Tarrant County Courthouse steps and the small garden area nearby. Then, to celebrate, Amanda and Churon popped a bottle of champagne and toasted to their new marriage. It was the perfect way to end their Fort Worth courthouse elopement—fun, genuine, and full of love.

All in all, it was such a joyful afternoon spent with two incredible people celebrating their love. Ten out of ten would absolutely do this again!
