This Marty Leonard Chapel wedding in Fort Worth was equal parts breathtaking architecture, elegant moments, and one seriously lively celebration. Alexandra and James said “I do” on a hot August evening surrounded by family, friends, and a wedding party that absolutely knew how to keep the energy up.
And while the day definitely threw us a few curveballs, it all came together in the end – which is honestly a pretty accurate description of weddings in general!
A Wedding Morning That Chose Violence
It’s Not a Wedding Without a Little Chaos
Picture this: it’s your wedding day, and apparently the universe woke up and chose violence.
Your original hair and makeup artist cancels the night before. The replacement team runs late the next morning. Then you arrive at the chapel only to realize your wedding dress is still back at the house.
Cool.
Cool cool cool.

Alexandra’s mom, a literal superhero, immediately jumped into rescue mode and made the round trip to grab the dress. Later that evening, Alexandra also had to deal with a slight hair emergency at the reception because apparently the day had not caused enough chaos yet.
Was this the timeline anyone dreamed of? Absolutely not. But somehow, it still worked out beautifully.
Alexandra got to marry her best friend inside one of the most beautiful chapels in Fort Worth, eat incredibly delicious food, and dancing the night away on a packed dancefloor filled with all her loved ones. What could be better than that?
And honestly, that’s weddings for ya. Sometimes things go perfectly, and sometimes the universe throws three plot twists at you before dinner. 🙃
But that’s okay: you adjust, you lean on the people who have your back, and you keep moving – because at the end of the day, you’re still married, and that’s the part that matters most!

A Breathtaking Marty Leonard Chapel Wedding Ceremony
The Architecture That Steals the Show
After a slightly chaotic morning, we arrived at Marty Leonard Chapel, and it was immediately easy to understand why Alexandra and James chose it.
The sheer scale of the space is incredible. Between the soaring architecture, dramatic lines, natural light, and the way everything seems to pull your eye toward the center of the chapel, it’s genuinely one of the most beautiful ceremony spaces I’ve photographed in Fort Worth.
The ceremony itself was just as beautiful. Alexandra made a grand entrance down the long aisle in her flowy gown, and later, she and James shared a candle-lighting ceremony before exchanging vows.
After everything that had gone sideways earlier in the day, this part felt calm. Intentional. Like everyone could finally exhale and simply be present for what really mattered.
After the ceremony, we used the chapel and surrounding grounds for portraits. This is the kind of venue where I could photograph for hours and still find another angle I wanted to try. The architecture gives you so much to work with, whether you’re creating something dramatic and editorial or stepping back to show the scale of the building around the couple.

Haitian Food and One Hell of a Party
A Reception Full of Flavor
The celebration continued nearby at the Amon Carter Center, where everyone settled in for dinner, drinks, and eventually a very full dance floor.
And can we talk about the food? Alexandra and James served authentic Haitian cuisine, which was such a delicious and personal addition to the evening. I will always love when couples incorporate food, traditions, music, or other details that actually mean something to them instead of doing something simply because weddings are “supposed” to have it!
The reception had a few stressful moments of its own, but Alexandra’s bridesmaids stayed close and rallied around her when she needed them the most. This was a great reminder to make sure you choose those you know have your back for everything – including a little wedding-day drama. 😉
And once the party really got going? This group absolutely knew how to have a good time. The dance floor came alive with everyone celebrating these two!

When the Wedding Day Isn’t Perfect
The Day Still Becomes the Story
I think there can be so much pressure for weddings to unfold perfectly. The reality is that sometimes a timeline runs behind. Something gets forgotten. Hair doesn’t cooperate. Weather changes. People get stressed.
BUT, none of that means the wedding was ruined!
Alexandra and James still got married inside one of the most breathtaking chapels in Fort Worth. They celebrated with the people they love, ate incredible food, and ended the night surrounded by a wedding party that knew exactly how to have a good time. 🥰
