As a wedding photographer with over 15 years of experience, I’ve photographed quite a few weddings, and since moving to the Dalla-Fort Worth area, I’ve captured many beautiful celebrations at some of the best wedding venues in the north Texas area!
I’m always excited to share my favorite North Texas wedding venues with newly engaged couples.
If you’re planning your wedding and searching for the perfect venue, I hope this list helps you find the right fit. From rustic barns to elegant estates, these wedding venues in the DFW area offer something for every couple, and provide dreamy backdrops, beautiful light, and lasting charm that photographs perfectly.
The 1906 Venue – Whitesboro, TX
Located in the heart of Whitesboro, The 1906 Wedding & Event Venue is one of those spaces that immediately feels different from your typical North Texas venue. It’s a fully restored historic church from, you guessed it, 1906, and they’ve kept so much of the original character intact while updating it in a way that actually works for a wedding day.
The chapel is really the focal point here. Between the stained glass windows, original hardwood floors, and vaulted ceilings, the space has a moodier, more romantic feel compared to the bright white venues you see everywhere. The light that comes through the stained glass shifts throughout the day, which gives you a lot of depth and variation in photos without having to do much at all.
Another thing that stands out is how everything is contained within one building. You’ve got the chapel, reception space, and even a lower-level lounge for cocktail hour all connected, plus getting-ready suites on site. From a timeline standpoint, that makes the day feel a lot smoother – less travel, fewer moving parts, and more time to actually be present instead of constantly transitioning locations.
It’s also a great fit for more intimate weddings. The space comfortably holds around 100–150 guests, which keeps things feeling full and intentional rather than spread thin. And because the design leans more neutral and historic, it photographs well with pretty much any style you bring into it.
If you’re drawn to a space with a little more depth – something romantic, slightly moody, and rooted in history – this is easily one of the more unique venues you’ll find in North Texas.

Soli Deo Gloria – Decatur, TX
Tucked away just outside Decatur, Soli Deo Gloria Weddings & Events offers a quiet, nature-filled setting that feels removed from the city without making guests drive forever to get there. The property is surrounded by mature oak and cedar trees, and with over 25 acres, it has that more private, tucked-away feel that’s harder to find closer to the DFW metroplex. It also gives you plenty of space to move around for portraits without feeling rushed or like you’re hopping from spot to spot.
One of the biggest standouts here is the chapel. Built using reclaimed wood from a historic 1908 church, it has a lot of natural character, but what really makes it work is the light. The large windows and sliding glass doors bring in a soft, even glow that photographs beautifully throughout the day. You get the structure and comfort of an indoor ceremony, but it still feels open and connected to the outdoors -which, especially in Texas, makes a huge difference!
The layout of the venue flows really well, too. Everything is close enough to keep the day moving smoothly, but spread out enough that it never feels crowded. From a photography standpoint, that means less downtime, better transitions, and more time for the moments that actually matter.
If you’re drawn to a space that feels a little more calm and intentional – with great natural light, a unique ceremony space, and room to breathe – this is definitely one to have on your list in North Texas.

The Springs Event Venue – Weatherford, TX (The Manor)
One of my absolute favorite North Texas wedding venues to photograph is The Springs in Weatherford, specifically at The Manor. I had the honor of capturing a stunning wedding here a few years ago, and it still stands out as one of the most memorable experiences of my photography career.
This elegant wedding venue in Weatherford, TX, offers a beautiful blend of Southern charm and modern luxury. The main indoor reception space is spacious and airy, with soaring ceilings and large windows that flood the room with soft, natural light – perfect for bright, editorial-style photography. The open-concept two-story ballroom offers plenty of room for guests both on the main floor and the upper balcony level, which provides a fantastic vantage point to overlook the dance floor as the night unfolds.
At the center of the ballroom is a stunning statement staircase – ideal for capturing dramatic bridal portraits, especially with a flowing train cascading down the steps. Opposite the staircase is a large, stone fireplace that adds warmth and structure to the room. It also serves as a beautiful backdrop for the head table or sweetheart table décor.
The getting-ready spaces at The Manor are just as impressive. The bridal suite features floor-to-ceiling mirrors, a mini stage for stepping into the dress, and a row of vanity stations for the bridal party to prepare together in style. The groom’s suite is equally thoughtful, with its own dressing area and mirrors that help ensure every detail is just right before the ceremony.
The outdoor ceremony site is what truly seals the deal. A gorgeous white gazebo serves as the altar, situated at the end of a courtyard path that leads over a small bridge. It’s surrounded by lush gardens and greenery, creating a romantic, storybook setting that’s incredible for formal portraits. Just outside the venue, a large water fountain welcomes guests and provides yet another dreamy backdrop for couple’s portraits—especially with golden hour lighting or dramatic skies overhead.
Whether you’re planning a classic, romantic wedding or something with a more editorial flair, The Springs in Weatherford – The Manor offers an effortlessly photogenic setting at every turn.

Bella Cavalli Events – Aubrey, TX
If you’re looking for a modern rustic wedding venue in North Texas that combines elegance with an unforgettable guest experience, look no further than Bella Cavalli in Aubrey, TX. I had the absolute best time photographing a wedding here, and I’ve been dying to go back ever since!
Bella Cavalli is truly one-of-a-kind. The indoor reception space is spacious and warm, with floor-to-ceiling windows that let in an abundance of natural light—an absolute dream for wedding photos. Upstairs, there’s a generously sized bridal suite that provides plenty of space for getting ready in comfort and style.
But where Bella Cavalli really shines is outdoors. This venue is a must for animal lovers—just steps from the main ballroom is a private petting zoo that guests can visit during the event. From goats and alpacas to exotic animals, it’s a whimsical and interactive experience that sets this venue apart. You can even upgrade your package to include a romantic Friesian horse-drawn carriage ride—yes, seriously!
(Fun fact: the owner, Joni Kuhn, performed with her Royal Friesian Horses in Catching Fire, the second installment of The Hunger Games franchise!)
The property itself is set on rolling hills with a beautiful lake and fountain, perfect for outdoor ceremonies or sunset portraits. There’s also a charming bistro garden area that’s ideal for cocktail hour or an al fresco dinner setup.
From an editorial photography perspective, Bella Cavalli offers so many unique backdrops, from lush nature views to animal encounters and wide-open Texas skies. It’s a place that feels magical and personal, with so much room for creativity and connection.
Whether you’re planning a relaxed outdoor celebration or a lively indoor reception with a twist, Bella Cavalli Events in Aubrey offers an unforgettable setting that your guests—and your photographer!—will absolutely love.

The Barn at Paradise – Paradise, TX
Tucked away in Paradise, TX, The Barn at Paradise is a spacious, 8,000-square-foot wedding venue. It blends industrial farmhouse style with modern design and rustic charm. The two-story white shiplap barn features concrete floors and large, light-filled windows. Copper chandeliers add elegance while keeping the overall vibe relaxed and inviting. It’s perfect for couples who want a clean, contemporary look with warm, country-inspired details.
The spacious layout can accommodate up to 300 guests, making it perfect for larger weddings and events. It includes a full catering kitchen, indoor/outdoor bar, and a charming wraparound porch. The porch overlooks a peaceful pond—one of my favorite spots for romantic sunset portraits. Upstairs, the balcony provides a beautiful view of the dance floor below. It keeps the space feeling open, inviting, and perfect for celebrating with loved ones.
The bridal suite is a definite highlight at The Barn at Paradise. It features a full beauty bar and luxurious clawfoot tub. Large windows fill the space with soft, natural light—perfect for dreamy pre-ceremony photos. With thoughtful amenities and a spacious layout, this venue offers both charm and flexibility. The Barn at Paradise is full of personality and stunning photo opportunities at every turn.

Rustic Grace Estate – Van Alstyne, TX
In the countryside of Van Alstyne, Rustic Grace Estate has that classic North Texas venue feel – but with a little more character built in. The property sits on nearly 25 acres and gives you a mix of open space, water views, and those small in-between spots that make portraits feel more natural and less staged.
One of the biggest draws here is the combination of spaces. You’ve got a bright white chapel for ceremonies and a restored 1920s red barn for the reception, which creates a really nice contrast throughout the day. The chapel brings in a lot of natural light, keeping things soft and clean during the ceremony, while the barn shifts the energy into something a little more relaxed and lively once the reception starts.
The property also has a lake, open fields, and even longhorn cattle, which gives you some unique backdrops if you want something that feels a little more “Texas” without trying too hard.
The flow of the space is also really practical. Ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception areas are all close enough to keep things moving smoothly, but spread out enough that guests aren’t on top of each other. That usually translates to a more relaxed timeline and more flexibility for portraits without feeling rushed.
If you’re into that mix of rustic and a little bit elevated – with multiple backdrops, good light, and a layout that actually works with your day instead of against it – this is definitely one to keep on your list in North Texas.
This venue is a photographer’s dream and a couple’s stress-free paradise. I always love shooting here – it’s so easy to capture the heartfelt moments in such a warm and thoughtfully designed space.

Final Thoughts
Each of these Texas wedding venues offers something special—whether it’s storybook charm, luxury lodging, or goats and Friesian horses (seriously, what’s not to love?). As a wedding photographer, I’m always looking for locations that not only look incredible in photos but feel amazing in person. These five venues deliver on both fronts, and I’d shoot at any of them again in a heartbeat.
