When Paco reached out to me about photographing a surprise proposal at the Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden, I knew it was going to be something special. His plan? To surprise his girlfriend (spoiler: now fiancée!) Christine under the guise of a family photo session—supposedly a Father’s Day gift for his dad.
Paco, with the help of his sisters, thoughtfully organized every detail. They brought roses to decorate the proposal site and even had a large “Will You Marry Me?” sign ready—held by both sets of parents for the big moment. The Dallas Arboretum provided the perfect romantic setting for such a meaningful milestone.

Christine was completely surprised (a big relief for Paco, who was nervous she’d catch on!). Her emotional reaction—happy tears and all—as she came down the steps and saw the setup was absolutely priceless.
After she said yes, we took time to wander through the gardens, capturing romantic engagement photos among the lush floral backdrops. Even with the humid, overcast weather, the light was dreamy and the mood was full of joy. These are the kinds of moments I live for—genuine, emotional, and surrounded by people who matter most.

Whether you’re planning a proposal at the Dallas Arboretum, or dreaming up your own surprise moment, I’d love to help you preserve it in a way that feels true to your story.
